Message from our new rector

Back to Church Page

Our new rector, Revd Ness Brunner-Ellis, is now in post. This is what she had to say about joining the Ridgeway Benefice

I’m really delighted to have been offered the position of becoming your next Rector.

I’ve served as Team Vicar in Witney for just over 5 years, and before that much of my ministerial experience was in rural contexts, becoming ordained in 2014 in Bristol Diocese. My professional background has been two-fold, as a Psychiatric Nurse in the NHS for nearly two decades, and as a freelance Violinist and Pianist, performing and teaching.

I have two adult aged children, Barney and Nadia, both at University. Somewhat fortuitously they’ve both also worked part time at Richmond Village in Witney for several years, so having a home in Letcombe Regis may just suit them rather well! Barney studies Acoustic Engineering and Nadia Paediatric Nursing. They both love making music: apologies in advance for the arrival of a Drum Kit in the Rectory…..together with many guitars, flutes, saxophone, piano, violin and a lot of percussion!

My husband Robin is a Professional Fundraiser with Guideposts, working from home, and an Archaeologist by background. We both enjoy country walks, pub lunches, log fires, a good novel and our rather timid but lovely cat, Oscar.

We’re very much looking forward to moving to Ridgeway Rectory and starting the next phase of our lives in your midst and, most importantly, discerning together what God has in store for us all as a Benefice.
